    Karen Seath

    Managing Director

A senior management professional to CEO level, Karen has over 25 years’ experience in the commercial, academic and environmental sectors (including oil and gas decommissioning, renewables, aquaculture/ fisheries, alcoholic drinks). Working as a Sustainable Growth and Stakeholder Engagement specialist, Karen leverages her extensive cross-sector network and practical understanding of the “Triple Helix” model of innovation (academic, industry and government interfaces) to develop sustainable strategy and collaborative relationships, with a particular focus on environmental impacts, decommissioning and circular economy (reuse/repurposing of decommissioned materials). Supporting organisations, she helps identify opportunities, create alliances, commercialise innovative technologies and drive growth.

Karen was also honoured to become a Trustee with the Scottish Fisheries Museum in 2019, where she works with the executive team to help develop and deliver the story of the future of our fisheries, its conservation and the impact of climate change, through exhibitions, pod casts and events.

Her cross-sector background leads to specific insights. A qualified Marine & Fisheries Biologist to Masters level, Karen’s passion for investigating the impact of man-made activities on the marine environment led her to work on marine science research and consultancy projects throughout Europe. Following a move into the private commercial sector, where she gained over 13 years’ experience with the drinks giant Diageo in risk management, regulatory and government affairs across global regions, she combined her scientific and commercial expertise to help open new market sectors and commercialise innovative technologies/ideas from subsidiary companies within academia. This led to a strategic and highly public facing position working across the oil and gas decommissioning sector with the member organisation Decom North Sea as General Manager and Interim CEO.

In March 2017, Karen took the natural career step of working for herself where she uses her experience and network to provide strategic and practical support to regulatory, commercial and academic entities, from start-up to established.
